“My textile piece depicts what I’ve done from an early age up to my working life: the school cap is for my childhood; a shovel symbolises my time working as a grave digger; the mask is my welder’s mask; the house is from when I worked in a care home; and the flower symbolises when I worked as a gardener. There are also symbols for my Scottish clan."
