An uplifting dementia-friendly book about the life and journals of Dorothy Wordsworth while living in Grasmere. Developed with and for people living with dementia, the book has an easy to follow narrative and a story on every
two-page spread. It is rich with intriguing details and images provoking curiosity and prompting conversations between people living with dementia and their family and friends.

Dorothy Wordsworth's Grasmere Days has been created in collaboration with the Wordsworth Trust and aims to support people living with dementia to continue reading for enjoyment for longer.

Support for Reading with Dementia and Dorothy Wordworth's Grasmere Days:

"I love everything about this book. It’s clear and easy to read, with a good balance of text and pictures, and I learned so much. I even enjoyed trying to decipher Dorothy’s handwriting. I like the fact that there are questions which give you something different to talk about together, and the way that the book encourages you to get out and visit new places. I struggle to remember what I’ve read when I turn the page but with this book it’s a pleasure to read again and again."
Anita Goundry, living with young onset dementia and Alzheimer's Disease

“This is an inspirational initiative. Reading helps us to stand in other people’s shoes and shows us worlds beyond our own. I was first introduced to the work of Dorothy Wordsworth by my grandmother and, at the end of her life, it is what I read to her when she could no longer read for herself. Congratulations to everyone at Equal Arts.” Author Kate Mosse CBE
