An A-Z of the Meadow Well and Beyond

Equal Arts has worked with Meadow Well Connected and residents living in the Meadow Well in North Shields to create an online A to Z of tales, traditions, history and high points of the estate and its environs.

From internationally renowned artist Sam Ainsley, jumping over architect John Dobson’s upbringing in West Chirton to Tom Hadaway’s playwrighting tales about the Fish Quay, The Ridges and then the Meadow Well has been home to some poignant people over the years.

Residents have also taken photographs with the winning images displayed in the centre as part of “Celebrating Meadow Well”, alongside artwork by Roy Weir, which was made upon his return from war and donated by his son Gordon.

This work will be showcased throughout December at the centre and has been supported through The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Please help us fund more projects.
