“Working for Equal Arts has been the most rewarding and wonderful work I have ever done.
“I had been spending a lot of time caring for my mum who’s had a stroke and vascular dementia. I often sang to her and was constantly amazed at how responsive she was to music. She would always wake up. By the end it seemed the only way she could communicate.
“Equal Arts asked if I would do some work with them and at first I was quite unsure if I’d be any good at it. I’ve had amazing support from the Equal Arts team and have loved every minute of working with older people and am constantly amazed at the power music has.
“I never fail to feel joy when I see the impact music can have, from with my mum to a complete stranger.”
