Winston Churchill Fellowship 2010

Mar 30 2011

Alice Thwaite was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to travel to Ireland and the USA over the summer of 2010, to look at examples of good practice in connection with the arts and older people.

The Fellowships were established in 1965, after the death of Sir Winston, to support “travel to make a difference”. The attached report charts the visits that Alice made.

Alice is maintaining relationships with arts organisations she visited through the fellowship, and incorporating what she learned into developing projects here in the North East.

Since the Fellowship Alice has been asked to talk about the work of Equal Arts at the 3rd International Arts & Health Conference in Melbourne, Australia in November.
